Don’t Just Move In… Build a New Home!

custom home buildingIf you’re planning on moving to a new home, you have a few major decisions to make before any purchases are final. Although you’ve probably spent hours deciding on where you’re going to move, when you’re going to buy a home, and what kind of home you’re actually looking for, there is one aspect of home buying that is perhaps more important than any other: deciding whether to build a new home or move into an existing one.

Although if you research enough places, you’ll probably be able to find a great home to move into that has already been built – however, you may still consider building a brand new home instead. Here are a few reasons why you should have a new home built rather than simply moving into an existing one.

Custom home building doesn’t take that long
There is a common misconception when it comes to building a new home involving the amount of time it actually takes to build. For some reason, many people believe that it takes years to build a brand new home and end up settling on an existing one because they don’t want to wait that long. No one wants to wait that long for a new home but very rarely do custom home building projects last longer than a year or two. On average, custom-built homes take between 10 to 16 months to come to fruition.

You can always use those builders for remodeling jobs later on
Another misconception about home building is that you can’t work with the same team months or years down the road if you want to have some changes made. As long as you’re working with an experienced and credible team to begin with, you can certainly reach out to the same builders for home remodeling projects as well. Quality home builders are able to perform all sorts of home construction and remodeling projects.

You’ll feel much more connected to your property
A major reason you may want to build a home as opposed to moving into an existing one is because you’ll actually feel like a part of your property.  With a new home, it will feel and be 100% your own.
